From exile to expression

I am an artist, graphic designer, illustrator and animator with over 5 years of experience in visual design, creative multimedia and art direction. I weave together creative approaches in visual design with my technical and detail oriented skills to produce elegant, clean and engaging designs.

I have been a refugee for 25 years living in Jordan after fleeing Iraq with my family in the war.  Living in Jordan as a refugee was difficult because I wasn’t able to participate in many normal things in life and have access to the same opportunities as others. After a long journey of discovering myself to know my purpose as a lost soul in a foreign land I found it through art and it changed my perspective in life. Although I was hopeless at times without any opportunities because of my refugee status, I did not lose my passion for art. Art was like a savior. It took me out of the darkness that this situation caused. The more I do it the more the fire inside me ignites to enjoy and express what I feel when creating art.

Art has given me a career path in graphic design, which has allowed me to express art and develop a practical skill at the same time. I would say that I was one of the lucky ones because I connected my passion with a life career.
