Client: Plan International Jordan
For Plan International Jordan, I designed the full layout and created all illustrations for an 80-page children’s folklore book.
The project is part of the “Bedtime Stories for Brave Children” initiative. The book blends Palestinian folklore with psychosocial storytelling, creating a safe and comforting reading experience for children.
My role focused on:
- Full book layout design (cover, interior pages, typography, visual flow)
- Visual identity development for the series
- Character design (Maryam, Aboud, and recurring folklore characters)
- Creating 50+ original illustrations
- Designing consistent spreads that balance text and image
- Preparing print-ready files
The visual style was developed to feel warm, gentle, and culturally rooted. The illustrations support emotional storytelling and reflect familiar Palestinian environments — from Gaza’s shorelines to village homes, orchards, and deserts.
The result is a cohesive, child-friendly book that supports psychosocial engagement through thoughtful design and visual storytelling.
