Fatem’s Photo Diary – Gaza Through My Eyes

Client: Plan International Jordan

For Fatem’s Photo Diary – Gaza Through My Eyes Fatima’s Diary, I designed the full visual layout of this short bilingual photo publication.

The project presents a powerful photo story titled “Superwoman” (page 2), highlighting the daily realities of women in Gaza. The layout was designed to support the emotional weight of the image while keeping the reading experience clear and accessible in both English and Arabic.

My role included:

  • Full publication layout design
  • Bilingual (Arabic–English) typography handling
  • Text hierarchy and readability structure
  • Visual framing of the photography
  • Creating a cohesive diary style aesthetic
  • Preparing the document for presentation/print

The design approach was minimal and respectful. The photograph remains the emotional center of the spread, while the text is structured to guide the reader without overwhelming the image.

The diary-style cover and handwritten visual elements reinforce the idea of personal storytelling allowing the viewer to experience Gaza through an intimate, human lens.
